When Is Elitch Gardens Moving
Is elitch gardens actually closing?
Hi all, I recently heard from a friend that Denver's classic legit amusement park elitch gardens (known to most as just "elitches") is closing, apparently because of some kind of exchange of the property or something. This really bummed me out. Posting to confirm if this is true, and if so if anyone has any details on why this is happening or any alternatives, developments, etc. that'd be great. Thank you

Guess Lakeside was playing the long con....and it might just pay off.

Last time I went to lakeside, I stood in line to get a burger. Above the grill there were foot long stalactites of grease and filth. Nobody cleaned that kitchen in years.

I remember people being upset about them moving the location away from 44th 38th and Tennyson. It's closing but moving, my theory is Northfield

They should move it back to 44th and Tennyson for the fun if it.

Not enough space and the neighborhood would freak out about the noise. Probably somewhere in Commerce city near Dick's.

I thought I heard it was moving somewhere else?

As someone who grew up back East, I don't understand the big deal about Elitch. It's more like a large carnival than a proper theme park. It's confusing. We have tons of flat land to the east that could easily support a world-class theme park. I'm guessing we just don't have enough people within driving distance to support one.

The original Elitch Gardens was something fantastic.
It was encouraged to picnic, and had ample shade.

It's pretty weird, since Lagoon has been able to make it work and does a decent job of keeping up with new coasters.

Ok buddy, Dorny Park is still there for you.

His plan involves building parking deck and condos next to park.

Mayor proposed 'giving' the land to Amazon. So, clearly, they think there's a better use for it.
To my way of thinking, it's a wonderful advertisement for Denver. That it's a human-enough city to care about something other than bars for entertainment. I find it really sad, even if it's relocated. Oops...forgetting how people-oriented just another skyscraper--or 6--would be for Denver and its skyline.

Don't ask me how I know but the answer is yes. At least in its current location.

Buying Water World aren't they?
